The latest release marks James Blake's sixth album

James Blake drops new album, 'Playing Robots Into Heaven'

James Blake has dropped his latest album, ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’, via Polydor/Republic records. Check it out below.

Following on from 2021’s ‘Friends That Break Your Heart’, the latest eleven-track LP marks his sixth album to date.

Blake initially teased the release of ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ to fans in June, dropping its first single ‘Big Hammer’. ‘Big Hammer’ was also shared with an accompanying music video, directed by Oscar Hudson. You can watch the video here. This was followed by the release of another single, 'Loading', which arrived last month.

The latest album is also a nod to his latest creative project, a sold-out CMYK event series with Rhonda INTL, which kicked off in LA last March.

In July, the London CMYK event saw DJ sets Fauzia, Luxe, Airhead, and Mr Assister, with a surprise appearance from The Ragga Twins and Erick The Architect. Lil Yachty also appeared in the DJ Booth alongside Blake on the night.

It’s been a busy couple of years for the producer and multi-instrumentalist. Earlier this summer, James Blake was given writing credits for the track 'DELRESTO (ECHOES)' on Travis Scott’s new album, alongside Beyoncé and Mike Dean. Blake also appeared on the track 'TIL FURTHER NOTICE' alongside 21 Savage.

Last year, Blake also teamed up with the generative music app Endel to release the sleep aid project, Wind Down.

Following the release, James Blake will embark on an international headline tour this month – kicking off in Milan on 18th September 2023.

The tour will also see shows across Europe, including Paris, Berlin, and London, before heading to North America, concluding in Los Angeles on 20th October 2023.
