Badlands is releasing a new remix package featuring tracks from her latest album, ‘Call to Love: Rendered’, later this year. Listen exclusively to Ikonika's remix of  ‘I Want Blood’ below.

The Swedish producer, composer and sound designer breathes new life into her 2022 LP with a suite of genre-expansive reworks from friends and sources of inspiration. Dropping over the course of the year on her RITE imprint, featured remixes have come from the likes of Art Feynman, Odd Nosdam, Jape, Cooly G & PAL, thus far.

“This remix project is my way of bringing some of my favourite independent, primarily electronic, producers together in a bouquet of Badlands interpretations,” she said of the project. “Badlands always was a very genre-bending project, and always will be. I only do this for fun, but this thing is also a way to pay homage to the international autonomous scene & show some of the places I come from.”

London-based producer Ikonika is next in line for the project, contorting the “outlaw electronica” of ‘I Want Blood’, which closes the album on a dark, haunting tip, into a vintage deep house mover with amapiano flourishes. Having long transcended the ‘post-dubstep’ label with recent releases incorporating UK drill, grime, and gqom, the Hyperdub affiliate wastes no time pouring a dose of dark piano stabs, wobbles, and whistles over Badlands’ silky vocal.

The rest of the remixes from ‘Call to Love: Rendered’ can be expected throughout the remainder of the year, to be gathered and released in a remix compilation with bonus tracks on 6th December.
