Premiere: Eamon Harkin ‘Gears Of The Heart’

Psychedelically tuned hardware house and techno from the Nowadays and Mister Saturday Night co-founder and resident, with remixes from Sobolik and Escaflowne

Premiere: Eamon Harkin ‘Gears Of The Heart’

Eamon Harkin will release a new EP, ‘Old Sage’, via New York’s Sorry Records this week. Listen to ‘Gears Of The Heart’ below.

If there’s one thing the co-founder and resident of the Mister Saturday Night/Mister Sunday parties and the beloved Nowadays club understands, it's dancefloors. On his debut for the burgeoning Brooklyn label, the Northern Ireland-born DJ, producer and label boss serves up four cuts of pulsing hardware house and techno that bear an intuitive, psychedelic funk, primed for NYC’s favourite parties.

Two intoxicating opening tracks – ‘Old Sage’ and ‘Dilatory Tactics’ –  whirl, stomp and growl with trippy bass fuzz and Drexciyan mystique, giving way to acid-dipped melodies and chiming deep house on ‘Gears Of The Heart’ and ‘Special Sympathy’.

The EP is completed by a suite of remixes from rising local stars Sobolik – whose new one for Kindergarten Records is another winner – and Escaflowne. Encompassing blissed-out bass alchemy and delicious 2-step garage, they turn this EP into a real home run of New York dance music, and the wealth of sounds that exist within it.

‘Old Sage’ is out this Friday 24th February. Pre-order it here
