Yamaha announces first-ever all-in-one finger drum pads, the FGDP-30 and FGDP-50

Yamaha is launching a new line of all-in-one finger drum pads with FGDP series.

The standalone tools, the FGDP-30 and FGDP-50, are designed to be portable with rechargeable batteries and a built-in speaker with an ergonomic pad layout and consideration for all skill levels. The velocity switch and polyphonic aftertouch sensor are sensitive to different drumming styles, giving the player more room for personalisation.

The FGDP-30 features 48 preset kits,1,500 voices with USB MIDI and Audio Data compatibility and retails for $199.99 (USD). The more advanced FGDP-50 model has additional presets and session kits, eight RGB pads, a note repeat function and playback sampler, retailing for $299.99 (USD). Both are available to purchase now.

"Our goal with the FGDP Series is to introduce a new kind of way for our customers to create music whether they are passionate finger drummers, aspiring musicians, or new to the world of music making", Yamaha US manager Matt Rudin said in a press statement.

Earlier this year, Yamaha expanded their electric piano offering with the new battery-powered CK range.

In May, Baby Audio revived Yamaha's cult favourite 1982 CS01 synth as a plugin called BA-1.
