Pioneer DJ announces "game-changing" digital-analog hybrid turntable, PLX-CRSS12

It’s the first deck to give DVS control of digital music via DJ software alongside playback of vinyl records

Pioneer PLX

Pioneer has announced a "game-changing" digital-analog hybrid turntable.

The PLX-CRSS12 is the first of its kind to offer DVS control of digital music via DJ software alongside the playback of vinyl records. The new turntable is an evolution of Pioneer's PLX-1000 turntable, which arrived in 2014.

In Digital Vinyl mode, the tone-arm-free system means you can scratch a real record "as vigorously as you like" without the needle skipping. In Analog mode, the matte black PLX-CRSS12 comprises a direct-drive turntable and promises improved sound quality with RCA terminals made from the same machined gold-plated parts like the PLX-1000. The deck is compatible with Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox.

The PLX-CRSS12 is priced at €1,299 including VAT / $1,299 excluding tax. Find out more info here.

The PLX-CRSS12 is the latest new product to be released by Pioneer DJ this year. Back in February, the brand unveiled a new 4-channel mixer, the DJM-A9 while a new all-in-one DJ system, the OPUS-QUAD, followed in March. November 2021 saw the arrival of a new two-channel all-in-one DJ unit called the XDJ-RX3.
